On a trip to the mall over the weekend it was apparent that both Road Apparel & Harry & David have closed at Bellevue Square. Both stores were tenants at Bellevue Square for several years.

According to Road Apparel their lease at Bellevue Square has expired. They do however have a Seattle location for those still interested in shopping at their store. Road is actively searching for a new Eastside location. The rumored new Apple Store in Bellevue Square will be across from where Road Apparel used to be located, which will likely be a highly trafficked location.

We did not get ahold of Harry & David to determine the reasoning behind their exit. If you’re interested in shopping with Harry & David, they continue to be available online.

There is no word on what will replace the retailers, but as you know we’ll be the first to let you know when we do.

The Bravern

The Bravern will have their normal hours through December 17, then will extend their hours beginning on Sunday, December 18th.

Bellevue Square

Bellevue Square’s hours have already been extended since November 30.  Bellevue Square will stay open until 10PM until the middle of December, then the couple weeks leading up to Christmas their hours will extend to 11 PM. See the calendar for daily hours:

The robber, who was reported to be a black male in his 30’s or early 40’s, showed the clerk a firearm that was in the waistband of his pants and then demanded money. The suspect fled out of the store with an unknown amount of cash.

He was wearing a black beanie, large glasses, a blue plaid shirt, and jeans that were faded in the back. The surveillance camera caught a picture of him, as seen in included photo.

Nordstrom

For workers in the downtown Bellevue core, this convenience will be an asset to those accustomed to fighting for lunchtime parking at Bellevue Square.

On the Eastside, the same day delivery zone includes downtown Bellevue, Clyde Hill, Hunts Point, a small section of Kirkland, Medina, Mercer Island and Yarrow Point.

Bellevue Square: Photos with Santa
The tradition of Santa at Bellevue Square continues. Get your family pictures taken with Old St. Nick any day of the week. This tends to b very popular every year, so make sure to plan accordingly and arrive early.

The Nordstrom website states that Santa will be visiting Nordstrom Bellevue Square, but the actual details are currently unavailable. We will update the site as these details become available.

Madewell, J. Crew’s sister company has opened in Bellevue Square just in time for Black Friday, one of the biggest shopping days of the year. The women’s fashion boutique has opened on the 1st level next to the Microsoft Store, where they are likely to see a lot of foot traffic.

One of the main attractions of the Madewell stores is the Denim Bar, which offers a wide variety of jeans. The Denim Bar at the Bellevue Square store is located toward the back, on the right side. Madewell prides itself on expert denim construction and ‘unbelievable’ fit, so we suggest this as a good starting point when shopping at the store.

It must be closing in on Christmas because several stores have been opening in Bellevue Square as of late. Saturday was no different, as Tesla Motors opened their Bellevue Square store. Now, in addition to shopping, dining, and entertainment, you can purchase electric cars at the Bellevue Collection.

The Tesla store is very different from your traditional car dealership. The store is owned by Tesla Motors, instead of the common franchise business model. Also, don’t expect to see hundreds of Tesla cars in the parking lot. There is just one car in the showroom, or ‘store,’ and one car to test drive in the parking lot. Placing orders for one of the cars at the store can be taken care of as well.

The cars and showroom are full of technology. There are 4 touch-screen monitors that can help to everything from order a car to teach you about the different car models. The store has many similarities to the Apple Store, which is likely due to the store’s experience being designed by ex-Apple employees.

For their grand opening this past Saturday and Sunday, the store had the a beta of the Model S on display, which is Tesla’s new car that is scheduled to come out in Summer of 2012.

The Model S seats 5, and in addition, has room for 2 children in the back. The car can get up to 300 miles on one charge, but this isn’t your typical electric car. Once you get inside you’ll see a 17-inch touch screen that comes equipped with wireless connectivity that allows you to browse the web, use turn-by-turn navigation, and several other fun applications. In fact, the navigation system will be able to utilize applications that 3rd party developers create, making the opportunities endless.

The Bellevue Square Tesla store represents Tesla’s 15th store they have opened in North America. It is located on the 2nd floor, next to Clarks.

‘Halo: Combat Evolved,’  is a first-person shooter video game developed by the downtown Bellevue based gaming company Bungie. Many game magazines have praised Halo as one of the best and most important games of all time.  The game is a 10th anniversary edition of the original ‘Halo,’ which has now been remastered.

Partygoers will receive free pizza. And 107.7 The End will provide entertainment and music. Be sure to join in on the tournament action for great prizes.

The North Face store is now open in Bellevue Square. The grand opening celebration took place over the weekend. Festivities included a climbing wall, Hal Koerner (athlete runner) signing posters, prize giveaways, and discounts.

The store is jam packed with every kind of outerwear you can imagine. There are many sections within the store that celebrate The North Face’s athletes, as well as the its accomplishments. The dressing room in the back right corner features a timeline of the brand’s accomplishments from the time the company was created in 1966, to the present.

The store carries adult and youth apparel, bags & gear, and footwear. This is the area’s 3rd store. The other stores are located in downtown Seattle and University Village. The Bellevue store is located on the 1st level of Bellevue Square, kitty-corner to Red Mango.
