Well, at least for women on the Eastside. It’s the most instant way to look even more beautiful that won’t break the bank. So what exactly is a ‘lash lounge?’

At Noir, all they do is lashes (yes, eyelashes). It’s their specialty – no nails, no massage, no facials; just lashes. All of their training is done in-house, so each lash specialist has put in hours of lash application before they even take their first appointment. The eyelash extensions are carefully affixed one by one to your natural lash line, leaving you with an instant eye-opening look of glamour. With over 100 different varieties of lashes, there’s a length and look for everyone.

Did I mention how affordable it is? A full set is only $75 and a fill is just $35. These prices are extremely competitive when compared to the local market for lash extensions. The fun part about Noir Lash Lounge is that it’s a place you can pop into with your friends, just like you would a nail salon, and you feel like you’re shopping at a boutique for your eyes. There are no back rooms with sterile florescent lights and tissue paper-covered tables. It’s a fun, inviting atmosphere where you literally get to lounge on a sofa with a fuzzy blanket while you get beautified.

Noir Lash Lounge also offers LashDip, an alternative to dramatic mascara, and their own do-it-yourself False Lashes. Lash extensions last anywhere from 2 – 4 weeks, depending on how you care for them, and some last even longer. From personal experience, my Noir Lash Lounge lashes lasted me about a month, and after a quick 45-minute fill I was back to glam in an instant!

The Bellevue store is Noir’s 1st U.S. location, with 4 other stores in Canada.

It has been confirmed that Schnitzer West LLC has put The Shops at The Bravern up for sale. This includes 300,000 square feet of retail space, of which 85% is currently occupied.

Schnitzer West also owns the 2 apartment towers at The Bravern, but they are not for sale as a part of this deal. The 2 office towers that Microsoft occupies were sold in 2010 and are not for sale either.

In an interview with King 5, Dan Ivanoff, the Founder of Schnitzer West, admitted that the mixed-use building has been a challenge. Ivanoff states the reason for the sale reload for new potential developments.

Also interesting to note is that Kemper Freeman was approached last week to purchase the property and declined, siting that The Bravern is 8 blocks away from Bellevue Collection and that he had wished it was only 2 blocks away. Here is the entire quote from the interview:

“It’s taken me 67 years to do this,” he says, while looking at a map of his properties. “[They] were trying to do it overnight.” Kemper says he was approached last week to buy the property, but “That’s eight blocks away. I wish that it was two blocks away, that would help both of us. But there is no synergy between the two players.”

Schnitzer West was instrumental in the vision for the entire Bravern project and brought some of the world’s most premium retailers to Downtown Bellevue, such as Neiman Marcus, Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, and more.

It’s unknown how long it may take to find a buyer, but it’s likely that not much will change for customers before or after the property sells.

Downtown Bellevue has it all, restaurants, nightlife, shopping, and more. On any given weekend, you can have champagne brunch, shop for a new outfit, catch an afternoon happy hour, fit in a game of bowling, go out dancing, listen to live music, catch a comedy show, and even grab a late-night snack. So what’s next?

The biggest thing missing in this city is live entertainment, and I’m not talking people-watching at the mall or karaoke night! We’re missing plays, musicals, ballets, concerts, and the like. With Tateuchi Center in the works, the breadth of music, dance, theater, and arts will be expanded.

On a recent trip to Seattle for a showing of Teatro Zinzanni, it got me to thinking; this sort of thing needs to be in Bellevue. In fact, the show I saw even made reference to the Eastside city. Some of the featured performers in the show were Diva and The Dixies, in which they referred to as the songstresses from Bellevue. Bellevue is ready for more song and dance!

From cabaret, to circus arts, to dinner shows, the Downtown Bellevue crowd is ready for what’s next. There are many aspiring and professional artists that call Bellevue their home. They are singers, dancers, acrobats, actors, and performers. Even though Bellevue has evolved from a suburb to a city, these artists still cross the bridge for gigs in Seattle. After seeing the spectacle that is Teatro Zinzanni, it really brought to light the fact that Bellevue is ready for what’s next.

I know it’s hard to believe when the sun is shining in Bellevue, and it’s supposed to be 80 degrees this weekend, but summer’s fading away. We always reflect with lament at how fast it flies by, but then we remember…Fall = Football! The NFL and NCAA wash our fall blues away, and here’s a list great places to catch all the action in Downtown Bellevue.

520 Bar & Grill
- The closest we have to a neighborhood ‘Cheers’ pub, 520 Bar & Grill is my favorite place to watch football. It’s an especially great place to go if you’re a Husky fan; you’ll find more purple at this place than crimson! Plus, if the weather holds out, they even have a flat-screen on their outdoor patio.
10146 Main Street
425-450-0520

Earls
- The TV’s may not be huge, but there are lots of them. The bar’s big, and you can pretty much see the game from anywhere you sit. The do turn the sound on and up for football games and will even be offering brunch.
700 Bellevue Way
425-452-3275

Joey Bellevue
- They have a giant screen that drops down over the bar, as well as multiple smaller TV’s on each side of the room. The crowd is usually enthusiastic, and it’s the only place in town to get an ‘Iceberg’ in your beer. I also hear the servers aren’t bad looking. ;)
800 Bellevue Way NE # 118
425-637-1177

Lot No. 3
- The best place to cozy up in a leather chair for a casual, relaxing game day. They have a projector that drops down in the front of the restaurant, and you’ll have a good view of it, whether you’re sitting up above or down below. You also can’t beat their weekend brunch menu, complete with 4 different Bloody Marys!
460 106th Ave NE
425-440-0025

Lucky Strike
- A great place to catch all the action, especially if you want to squeeze in a game or 2 of bowling. There’re ample places to sit in the lounge or at the bar, and enough TV’s to have a good view. It’s a good place to go with a group, if you want a better chance of finding space to sit all together.
700 Bellevue Way NE
425-543-5137

Munchbar
- It’s the new kid on the block for football fanatics this season and has turned out to be the place for Seahawks fans. Not only do Seahawks players frequent this Downtown Bellevue hot spot, but Munchbar now hosts The Official Seahawks Aftergame Party on Sundays from 9 PM – 11 PM. With video screens throughout the restaurant, this is the place for football fans to see and be seen.
505 Bellevue Square
206-307-1475

The Parlor
- All weekend long, Thursday – Monday, The Parlor will have their 12 TV’s and 9-foot HD screen tuned to football! In addition, there will be drink specials all night. They will even be open for breakfast starting at 9:30 AM on Saturdays and Sundays all season long.
700 Bellevue Way NE
425-289-7000

Rock Bottom Brewery
- This place is an old fan favorite – it’s a traditional brewpub that hosts sports fans on a regular basis. There are TV’s in the bar and an 120″ HD projector screen screen upstairs, so it’s another great place for large groups. They also have brunch and drink specials on Sundays for their NFL Sunday Ticket.

The City of Bellevue and Sound Transit are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, as the Sound Transit Board of Directors made the decision yesterday in favor of a tunnel for light rail in Downtown Bellevue. The City of Bellevue Council-members have long supported the tunnel option because it minimizes street congestion and maximizes routing efficiency. This decision is a sign of progress and hopefully a foreshadowing of cooperation between the City and Sound Transit on other outstanding items, like the alignment of certain routes.
