HSBC Bank Set to Open in Downtown Bellevue
HSBC Bellevue is scheduled to open its 1st full-service branch in Bellevue, at 821 Bellevue Way, on February 27th. HSBC is 1 of the world’s largest banks and is headquartered in London, England.
The opening will come 1 year after the announcement that HSBC intended to open a branch in Bellevue. HSBC will occupy the former location of International Jewelers, which is across the street from Bellevue Square.

Every time I visit a bank (very very rarely), there are so few customers. With everyone moving to doing their banking mostly online and the rest over the phone, I cannot see how they could justify opening a new branch in such a prime location. I guess I am underestimating how much money banks actually make. My prediction…by 2020 there will be new tenant in that space…assuming some high rise has not replaced that ugly strip mall already by then.

@EnataiMan
You may be surprised.
The two Chase (formerly Wamu) branch locations on NE 8th St and Bellevue Way are the top two of all (formerly Wamu) branches in terms of receiving deposits.

Kevin,
I doubt that considering how big Chase is in Manhattan.
