I am glad to see that Broiler Bay is still around. I like to eat there from time to time. One of the best greasy spoons around. They always have good service, and good food too!

Nice article Denise! I would agree with some of the sentiments shared above…it’s all about what you are in the mood for. If you want the “greasy spoon” hamburger stand style burger, Broiler Bay is quite good. If you are looking for something a bit more gourmet…John Howie might be your spot. I feel like a true burger aficionado can enjoy both!

For my money…best burger I have ever had is at Jak’s Grill (Issaquah, West Seattle, Laurelhurst). It is absolutely amazing!! Sub their potato pancakes instead of fries! A very reasonable $10.95 I think and I want to say only $5 during happy hour!

Oh man I live next door to Broiler Bay and it takes a lot of effort not to eat onion rings every day! So CRISPY! As for the hole-in-the-wall atmosphere you’re not really eating unless you are willing to eat on the edge!

It just goes to show how different people’s opinions can be. Some of us are able to appreciate greasy spoons just as much as we like gourmet restaurants, as Denise is able to do.

I have to say though, that I read Denise’s blog and I have even had the fortune to (by chance) meet Denise the other day, and I can honestly say that I trust her opinion when it comes to her reviews.

While I might have listened to naysayers and avoided Broiler Bay before, I will now give Broiler Bay a chance based on Denise’s review.

Sue – Seriously? Eight dollars during happy hour (at John Howie’s) is too expensive?! Heck, Applebee’s burgers start at $7.99, and I would imagine that the John Howie burger is far better than an Applebee’s burger.

Wait a sec…seriously? Broiler bay is absolutely disgusting. There is no way that you can possibly think that place tastes good or is a “top burger”. They dont even use real meat. Everyone i know just makes fun of that sh*t hole and stays far far away. Grosssssss!!
